Super Bowl Bound: Championship or Bust

It may only be the beginning of week 7 in the 2013 football season but, that does not mean that all eyes aren’t already focused on that one day, that one game, the Super Bowl! The return players that have taken their place on the field before knows, it will take more than hard work and dedication to reach the goal, it will also take a little luck and being able to put one or more of the nation’s best players in your teams colors won’t hurt either. The teams that are lucky enough to have the best of the best players will naturally have a better chance at fulfilling the dream for their franchise.

TIP TOP

Everyone has an opinion but, it is hard to ignore the performance of a few top contenders. Players that become instrumental in their teams success become almost god like to the fans. Players like Peyton Manning, starting superstar quarterback for the Denver Broncos who is on pace to set another season of NFL records. He is currently knocking on the door to set new single season record for completion percentages, touchdowns, passing yards, passer rating, QBR and interception percentage. He is known to his fans as the MVP on the most talented team in the NFL. Manning is a definite shoe-in for the single season record and the MVP. Many football analysts and experts agree that Manning may be the best all-around athlete to ever play the game of football.

Denver is not the only top team in the land to sport a top notch QB; New England Patriots Tom Brady is no slouch. He has led the legendary Patriots to 4 out of 5 wins this season already with a struggling offensive line. What else could New England fans expect from a 3 time Super Bowl champion like Brady? Find out about our top football bet for the season.

Don’t count ‘em out

Do not under estimate the skill and determination that the New Orleans Saints is famous for. With a quarter back like Drew Brees and a record setting tight end like Jimmy Graham, the Saints will be a tough contender for all comers this year. Brees has been his usual rock star self, completing seventy percent of his passes for twelve touchdowns. He’s 4th in the NFL in passer rating and yards per attempt, and he’s 3rd in QBR. The Saints are a virtual lock for their fourth postseason appearance in the last five seasons and could have control by November.

It is hard to say who will take home the ring this year just yet, but my heart and common sense tells me not to count out New Orleans Saints and the magnificent skill of legendary Peyton Manning for the season. Regardless of the team we support on an individual level, the traditions and values set by the NFL helps shape our way of life in the US making us all winners.

Early MLB Postseason Favorites

Early MLB Postseason Favorites

If one goes by the current scenario, it might appear that betting on sports, is one of the most popular opportunities available to make some money in the world of sports. Sportsbook betting can quite be a rewarding exercise if you know where to place your bets on. For instance, baseball is a good example of a sport where placing educated wagers is a must. It would prove to be very helpful for a bettor to know the important statistics and data that can greatly affect the outcome of a game. By doing research and reading betting tips, one can have higher chances of winning some money in sports betting.

Apart from knowing the necessary data that can help increase your chances of winning, it would be equally important to choose the best online sportsbook available in placing your bets. Bodog sports is a great example of a reputable online sports gambling site where beginners and expert sports bettors can play. Major League Baseball, or rather more popularly known as the MLB, is one of the most followed games in the United States and some other parts of the world. As far as betting is concerned, baseball provides an upper hand to the bettors with its long and strong history and a wider fan following, despite being in talks due to some rather serious matters.

With MLB’s 2013 World Series coming near, there’s no better time for sportsbook bettors to place wagers than now. With more than half of the season gone, it is becoming somewhat easier to have a better grasp on the teams that could possibly make the final run. There are a number of things that matter for the postseason qualification, and the below mentioned early favorites have already started presenting a clear picture of those things.

St. Louis Cardinals
Cardinals 400x400 Early MLB Postseason Favorites
From the very top to the bottom, the St. Louis Cardinals’ pitching men project sheer excellence. Shelby Miller and Adam Wainwright, the leaders of rotation, have the required precision in command, endurance as well as consistency that the team demands from the starters with the progress of the season. Randy Choate is one dependable left-handed specialist in bullpen, who has excelled recurrently with the advantage of the platoon. Randy is someone who makes the game look easy. During the latter portion of the games, the team derives its strength from the powerful duo, Trevor Rosenthal and Edward Mujica. Cardinals instill a very selfless approach within the young hitters on the roster and mainly emphasizes on driving in runs, as much as possible. If the wordings of Zachary D. Rymer, “Elite teams typically are strong up the middle”, are even 1 % factual, the Cardinals have everything they need to become champions.

Detroit Tigers

The starting pitchers of the Detroit Tigers are capable of blending deliveries and some really pure stuff, something that cannot be achieved by almost anyone. Each and every member of their top four, Max Scherzer, Anibal Sanchez, Doug Fister and Justin Verlander, is a great threat. To put it even better, they can be considered a nightmare to face in the chilly October days. One frightening twist for the remaining AL central is that Justin has not hit his stride until now. However, there is nothing to be fooled about as he would still come out as a huge threat. On the offensive side, Detroit seems to have many ultra-durable hands for putting on a hard performance. The core of Miguel Cabrera, Jhonny Peralta, Prince Fielder and Torii Hunter would surely remain intact for the postseason. On the whole, the Tigers have nothing to worry about, and are no less favorites for this postseason.

Johan Santana No Hitter: First in NY Mets History

Johan Santana pitched the first no hitter in NY Mets history yesterday against the St Louis Cardinals. Santana threw 134 pitches, struck out seven and walked five,  without surrendering a single hit in the 8-0 win. The Mets are now 29-23 this season and will play the Cardinals again today.

WAG of the Week: Cheryl Cole

WAG of the Week: Cheryl Cole

cheryl cole 4 400x300 WAG of the Week: Cheryl ColeCheryl Cole is fine as hell. Her last name used to be Tweedy, until she married Ashley Cole and got a divorce. Now the R&B singer is showing interest in Chris Brown and the English left-back is jealous at the thought of them going out.

What else could we expect from Ashley Cole, he’s one of the biggest hot heads in soccer. I really hope Ashley Cole doesn’t let this situation affect his performance next week. England is in Group D and they play their first game against France on Monday June 11.

Legendary 5-Time Boxing Champ Johnny Tapia Found Dead in Home

johnny tappia 400x264 Legendary 5 Time Boxing Champ Johnny Tapia Found Dead in Home45 year old, Johnny Tapia, was found dead in his Albuquerque home on Saturday. The five-time boxing champ had a history with cocaine addiction, alcohol, depression and run-ins with the law throughout his career. He was a great fighter that won five championships in three different weight classes.

He earned the WBA bantamweight title, the IBF and WBO junior bantamweight titles and the IBF featherweight belt and finished with a 59-5-2 record. It was sad to see him leave at such a young age, especially after having to grow up in a life marked by tragedy. He was orphaned at 8 and witnessed his beloved mother get stabbed 26 times by a screwdriver. Our prayers and wishes go out to the Tapia family in hopes that they find peace.

The number one draft pick and Cavs Rookie of the Year, Kyrie Irving, went through a serious transformation for this Pepsi MAX ad. After getting caked out in makeup and prosthetics, Kyrie Irving looked like a pretty convincing old Uncle Drew… until he starts schooling and dunking over everyone on the court.

Tim Tebow Interested in Virgin Lolo Jones?

lolo jones tim tebow 19 400x300 Tim Tebow Interested in Virgin Lolo Jones?Lolo Jones is smoking hot, so I couldn’t believe it for a second when I found out she was still a virgin. Poor thing, she’s tried online dating sites for a very long time now and still hasn’t found the right guy. HBO’s “Real Story” dedicated an episode to Lolo where she explained that whenever she finds someone with the right chemistry, they often get turned off after telling them that she wants to wait until marriage to have sex.

This past week, a bunch of the Jets team mates started chirping Tim Tebow and  pressured him to ask her out on a date.  One sports news reporter, Kevin Armstrong, and Lolo Jones, had a Twitter conversation about the possible hook up that went like this:

Kevin Armstrong: For the track/Lolo Jones junkies: When Tebow entered locker room today, several Jets players started chanting, “Lolo! Lolo!”

Lolo Jones: Hello by Lionel Richie is now on repeat on my ipod RT@KevinGArmstrong: Tebow entered locker room today, Jets players chanted, “Lolo! Lolo!”

Ask Tebow if he wants a glass of milk. If he says yes, ask him if he prefers chocolate. if he says no, then no more Tebow date suggestions
